empathy

With some of the things happening in the world, it can be hard to stay positive.

Our current culture tends to reward people for narcissistic and self-motivated behavior. Narcissism discourages community and connection and encourages greed and the pursuit of power at the expense of everyone else.

Because of this, we feel isolated, insecure, fearful and depressed. We find ourselves struggling to feel connected and supported.

The best way to combat the toxic energy of narcissism is to do something that builds community and connection - something that fosters love and empathy.

Donations and volunteering are great ways to take action for those in direct need, but there are also less obvious ways to help people that make a big impact.

When you do a simple, kind and nurturing act for another person, you are giving that person hope and fighting back the sense of isolation.

Here are some simple things you can do:

Get people together to share a meal (don't underestimate the healing power of sharing stories and laughter).

Check-in with someone you haven't heard from in a while.

Express your gratitude for someone.

You might get inspired to do something kind for someone, but then your defense mechanisms kick in and you talk yourself out of it.

Grounding helps you act on inspiration and avoid perfect pictures and overthinking.

Practice getting in calm, grounded state. The more you practice, the more quickly you can get grounded.

Through your grounding, quiet your mind. Remember to focus on your breathing.

Bring a healing ball of gold energy down into your heart chakra. Feel it energizing and opening up your heart.

When you are ready, send the healing ball down through your feet.

Imagine yourself taking action.

How does it feel? Listen to the messages that come to you.

Visualize the situation resolving in a positive, healing way.

Follow through and act on your inspiration.
